Viral Hepatitis

Hope Life stand to create awareness about viral hepatitis is a major global public health problem. Approximately 500 million people worldwide are infected with hepatitis B or C virus which is nearly 15 times the number infected with HIV/AIDS. Together viral hepatitis causes the deaths of almost 1.5 million people every year, the overwhelming majority as a results of chronic infection complicated by cirrhosis and liver cancer. This is the same level of mortality as caused by HIV/AIDS.73% of all liver cancer deaths worldwide are due to hepatitis viruses with much higher proportion in low and middle income countries.

Viral hepatitis is highly endemic in the African Region, which therefore contributes significantly to the global burden of diseases. To help end this sad reality Hope Life is creating awareness and prevention sort for drugs to vaccinate the children and people infected virus hepatitis.

Hope Life International charitable organization is a strong member of World Hepatitis Alliance that is a voice for over 500 million people infected with viral hepatitis worldwide. Hope Life work in the Gambia to create awareness, training healthcare professional to disseminated information and prevention of hepatitis.

Hope Life International recently carried awareness, training and testing of blood of people to know their hepatitis statues in serekunda and manadary community.
